Most people who have been in business for any amount of time have gone through the frustrations of having to spend several hours setting up and troubleshooting a printer. Even the most seasoned technology users may still find themselves unable to make these setup mistakes.
Printer setup errors
Some of the worst printer setup errors are caused by having a document that is too large to fit into the print head. Any printer should have an area where documents can be manually resized and printed without any problems.
This problem is usually caused by files that are too large to be displayed on the screen of the printer. A shortcut or window menu is available if you have a program to use to resize and print the document. This is especially true with commercial printers, which typically have a full screen option that can be set to the most appropriate size.
If you find that the document is too large, then one solution would be to cut it in half and place it into the file manager. After this is done, you can decide what you want to do about it. You may decide to have it manually resized or you may decide to purchase a re-size software program to automatically resize the document after printing.
Other problems that will cause printer setup errors are caused by images that are too large for the window that appears on the screen. To make sure that your printer does not print things that are too large, you need to open the system tray and look at the settings for the image. Once you know the settings for that image, you can easily set the correct image size for the window. This is why it is a good idea to first to double check the settings for the document before you do anything else.
Online solutions
Another online solution is to simply manually move the image onto the printer. There are various file managers that can help you do this. If you do not have these tools, you can just find the file, click it, and place it on the printer. Once the file is on the printer, you can choose what image you want to print and drag it into the top right corner of the window.
In order to have the printer actually print the image, you can go into the printer setup section of the Print dialog box and then click the print icon on the top right corner of the window. In this screen, you will find a small printing icon that is labeled “print”. You can click this icon to bring up the print dialog box.
Here, you will be able to choose which program you want to use to resize the image for you. If you want the image to be printed as a blank page, then the “blank page” option should be selected. The “blank page” option will also cause the document to be resized, but this option requires the ability to delete all the text that was found on the page. This is not usually needed with some types of images, such as white text on black.
On the other hand, if you are trying to print something that is very long, then you will need to choose the “crop” option. In this option, you will have the option to completely remove the text from the image, but you will also need to leave the border intact. This is the option that will allow you to correctly remove the text from the image before it is printed.
When you are able to choose the proper size and format for the image, you will also need to be able to print it correctly. Most programs allow you to change the size and format of the image if it is not properly supported by the program. To do this, simply go into the program and select the image.
You will see a preview that includes the image and the ability to resize it to fit the width and height of the page. To print the image, click the print icon to bring up the print dialog box. Once you have printed the image, you can see the results in the Preview pane.
